Updated Submission Terms
March 31, 2008

The purpose of The Simple Machines Forum Directory is to provide free advertising to forums that make use of the Simple Machines Forum software. We believe that the quality of this free directory should reflect the quality of the links that are submitted for inclusion. To this end, these submission guidelines will remain in effect beginning immediately and also will be applied to sites that already exist in this directory.

Acceptable Submissions

  • Links that lead to a forum powered by the Simple Machines Forum software.
  • Links that lead to a landing page which in turn has a link to a forum powered by the Simple Machines Forum software.
  • Your submitted site has a clear and distinct link to your forum.

Unacceptable Submissions

  • Forums that are hosted on free forum sites, even if the Simple Machines Forum software is being used. Come back when you have your own domain.
  • Forums that make use of any other forum software.
  • Unrelated sites that have nothing to do with the Simple Machines Forum software.
  • Other sites that do not even have a forum -- like other directories and MFA sites.
  • SItes that do not use English as the primary language. Why not begin a forum directory that features sites in other languages?

Unacceptable submissions are considered SPAM and they are an utter waste of my time. Without a clear focus and without relevant links, a forum directory, or any other directory for that matter, is nothing more than a link farm.

Help us achieve!

Please place a link to the Simple Machines Forum directory in the footer of your forum. And please use The Simple Machines Forum Directory as the anchor text. While this is not a requirement for inclusion, doing so will help promote this free directory and will increase its presence in the search engines.

Driving internet traffic to our site helps surfers to find a forum that reflects their interests. Perhaps the forum that they will find will be yours!
